Cardiac Catheterization
If your physician suspects that you have heart disease, you may need to have a cardiac catheterization, or cath. During the procedure, a catheter is inserted into a vein or artery and directed towards the heart. An x-ray dye is injected into your coronary arteries and pictures are taken. This will enable your physician to see if you have any blockages and choose the most effective treatment for you.
